I have the impression that neither NTN, nor NTF promote to black belts to early. But have seen a 13/14 year old student in pretty bad physical shape in club of other affiliation having 2 Dan. That's just sad. I believe it is OK to help kids build self esteem, but that way gives a self esteem with potential of a very ugly outcome if it is challenged.
